Talking About Self-Love

Hey guys, today I just wanted to take a moment to discuss something important and a much-needed topic for all the young people out there. it's almost the new year and I wanted to end 2020 with a positive and learning note.

edit- (HAPPY NEW YEAR YALL)

With that being said, what is self-love? so according to me, self-love is being confident in yourself and accepting who YOU are. it means taking care of your own needs and well being instead of sacrificing your worth for others. It means knowing that YOU are rare and special and irreplaceable and beautiful in your own way and the things you call "flaws" are just what makes you YOU your OWN PERSON and a unique human. I think self-love can mean different things to different people as we have different ways of caring for ourselves. so the question here is what does self-love mean to YOU? it can mean anything like talking about yourself with love and accepting the way you are, prioritizing yourself, trusting yourself, being true to yourself and forgiving yourself and moving on, or even knowing that won't settle for less than you deserve. it always doesn't mean loving your looks or never complaining about them because that's not possible. At some point or the other, we all feel ugly or even worthless.

One thing that I really wanted to speak on and try and express to people from my point of view was hating on people for their choices and body.

For eg- we usually see people over the internet with fillers, botox and work done on their bodies and read comments calling them fake and plastic, and stupid. my question is if a person preaches positivity, is kind and talented but the same person gets lip fillers so do we hate them? if a musical artist gets botox we call them fake? if an influencer puts too much makeup we send them death threats and tell them they are good for nothing?

Society usually calls people with plastic surgery fake and tells them they aren't allowed to preach self-love, but my understanding of this or how I see this is yes, they are absolutely allowed to preach self-love because they are loving their body even if it's plastic or not. it was THEIR decision and THEIR life choice all along and what matters is if plastic surgery or botox is all it takes to empower an individual or give them confidence and make him/her feel like the baddest bitch in the room it is fully their and their choice alone.

I am not promoting plastic surgery or any treatment, that is just an example, and even if many people won't agree with me, All  I want to say people think they are so entitled to be commenting on other people's body and their life choices that it is actually disgusts me.

There are people out there, telling little girls to loose or gain weight. to not wear crop tops and shorts, to not dance or walk like that just because THEY don't like it. I  think people like that need to keep their opinion to themselves and just SHUT UP.

There is a line between constructive criticism and hate. People don't realize that then they cross this line and that is exactly the problem.

like for example you got a new makeup palette and have attempted a look with black and purple shades making a beautiful cut crease ombre and when you show your friend they say - "oh my god you look like a witch gone wrong!!! what's up with that ugly ass colors.. just EW!!! your face looks so hideous!"

This is precisely when you tell them that YOU are proud of the look and ask them if they can even attempt it rather than just comment on it. You tell them it was a mistake asking for their opinion and they have absolutely no appreciation for talent and you keep growing PERIODT.

So with that being said you should know that you may not necessarily end up where you might wanna be but I can promise you, you will end up where you're meant to be. life is short so embrace it whatever you have.

I love you all so much and happy 2021♥
